Illustrations for the Shadow of the wind.

The first in a series of Illustrations for The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
It's probably my favourite book so it was a pleasure to illustrate, its not a live brief or anything... wish it was.

This one is called

'The Burnt Man'

And the text accompanying the image is just a block of dummy text... I don't have the right to use the actual text of the novel...

Started as a print commission for Dr Baker - also part of a live brief for coastal life magazine.... Its a little rough but I got the brief last night and submitted it today

the blue one is the original,
the other one is the result of a little experiment, I think I like it more...
